Scripture reference: Jeremiah 31:33
Transcription:
In 2 Cor. 3:3, the Apostle Paul proclaims – “You show that you are a letter from Christ…written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”
This profound verse reveals how Paul contrasted the old covenant, where God inscribed His laws on stone tablets, with the new covenant, where His laws are inscribed on our hearts.
To truly live as a letter from Christ, we must embody His teachings in every aspect of our lives. Here are three (3) ways to practice this:
- Embrace humility – John 3:30 teaches, “He must become greater; I must become less.” Embrace humility and let Christ’s presence shine through your actions.
- Show compassion – Colossians 3:12 encourages us to “…clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” You become more compassionate as you spend more intimate time with Christ. By treating others with love and empathy, we reflect Christ’s heart.
- Live the Word—Put your faith into action and live it out daily. James 1:22 instructs us to “…be doers of the word, and not hearers only.”
By following these principles, your life can genuinely read like a letter from Christ, inspiring and touching the hearts of many.
As you think about that, remember these words: “…I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” Jeremiah 31:33
