You Are a Showcase for God’s Power

This is our B moment. Our moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

Today, I am thinking about how we are a showcase for God’s power.

Recently, I’ve been talking about the myriad ways God is constantly working in our lives. Specifically, I talked about the times He doesn’t deliver in our timeframe because He’s blessing us in even greater ways.

There are also times God blesses us—but under the most extraordinary circumstances so that we might be a showcase for His power.

When I turn to the Scriptures, I think about Nehemiah’s story. He decided to rebuild two miles of Jerusalem’s broken walls.

However, he experienced opposition on every level. He experienced opposition and infighting among his own team, and he experienced construction delays and zoning issues. There were even people in the government who stonewalled him because they disagreed with him politically and didn’t want to see him achieve his goals.

Yet with all of that opposition, he was still able to achieve his goal; he rebuilt those two miles of walls in only 52 days.

Therefore, when we are experiencing opposition, we should embrace it, knowing that God is simply using us as a showcase for His greater designs. When others around you see what God is doing, they will understand you didn’t make it to where you are without God’s help, and they will be inspired to turn to Him.

Let us be encouraged and cling to these words: “For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13 (ESV)
