Have you ever pondered your spiritual bank account balance? This is the balance that records all your selfless acts and sacrifices for others. Just like the rewarding feeling of making deposits into our checking or savings accounts, making small deposits of love and kindness, especially when they’re random and extend beyond your inner circle, can be equally gratifying on a spiritual level.
Although you can’t see your balance like you do your financial accounts, God knows your balance.
When I turn to the Scriptures, I reflect on Rebekah, who selflessly made multiple trips to the well to provide water for Abraham’s servant and his camels. With each trip, she made another deposit. Rebekah’s selfless nature led her from being a servant girl to a woman with many servants.
On your life’s journey, continue to make spiritual investments, knowing that they please your Heavenly Father and will bear fruit.
As you think about that, remember these words: “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over…” Luke 6:38
